Children of any age are welcome at the Rock Lodge but must be 12 or above to stay at the Safari Lodge. Younger pride members of the family can visit the Cub's Club, which runs a fun daily programme of activities aiming to both entertain and educate cubs about their surroundings.

Game On!
A safari in South Africa is a wonderful way to spend a holiday, at Ulusaba we offer game drives in open 4x4 game viewing safari vehicles twice a day as well as nature walks. These activities are included in your luxury safari accommodation rates.
There are very few things as soul affecting than seeing the magnificent creatures of Africa in their natural habitats. A safari in South Africa is a once in a lifetime experience; at Ulusaba we understand this and aim to make your African adventure as special, fulfilling and memorable as possible. The excellent game viewing experience is complimented by other activities such as stargazing, bird watching and moonlit bush dinners or sundowners (weather permitting).
Walking in the Bush
The daily walk usually commences after breakfast. This is a fascinating activity as it allows you to observe the smaller animals that you would usually not see while out on drive. Our knowledgeable ranger and tracker will enthrall you with stories about the medicinal properties of plants, local beliefs regarding the wildlife and fascinating facts regarding the animals. No additional charge
All about relaxation
As if some of the finest game viewing, cuisine and views in Africa weren't already enough, not to mention luxurious rooms and staff that make you feel so at home, Ulusaba also has a boutique spa at both Rock Lodge and Safari Lodge. The Aroma Boma Virgin Touch Salon offers a fabulous range of treatments to help you relax and unwind after the excitement of game drive.
Guinot Treatments offered include a liftosome facial uses a high concentration of vitamin C and proteins to strengthen elasticity and firmness whilst stimulating cellular regeneration. Our resident beauticians also offer aromatherapy massages, manicures, pedicures and waxing. Price list available on request

The Arts and Craft shop is located at Safari Lodge. A selection of arts crafts and small gifts are available for yourself or friends and family back home. We also have clothing ranging from caps, shirts, beanies and gloves... anything you might need. Prices available in store
Working out
There is a gymnasium situated at both Rock Lodge and Safari Lodge, which is available for guests to use 24 hours a day. No additional charge
'Nose and swirl' around a few reds and whites
There is a Wine Cellar at Safari Lodge with an outdoor dining area for up to six guests, great for private dining. The wine cellar overlooks the waterhole with views on the dry riverbed and surrounding bush. Guests from Rock Lodge are welcome to use the Wine Cellar at Safari Lodge. No additional charge
Seeing the stars, up close and personal
Guest can now enjoy a star gazing evening as part of their game viewing experience at our new Observatory tucked away in the bush.

Child policy
Cubs under the age of 12 have the chance to stay absolutely free based on holidays taken throughout July, August and in October half-term week this year 2007.
Cubs of all ages are welcome at Rock Lodge and will be invited to take part in Ulusaba Cub's Club. Because Rock Lodge is small and intimate, and because we know each cub is different, we do not operate a set programme, rather we have a set welcome pack and range of great activities that are available on request.
On arrival at Ulusaba all cubs will be given a Cub's Club Backpack which contains lots of little goodies to help keep them entertained and to help to educate them about the African Bush. In every cub's room there will be a special welcome letter and a list of phone numbers they can dial from their room so it is easy for them to get hold of other members of their pride, along with Ulusaba staff. Also for their safety, we have security guards on duty all night who will pay particular attention to rooms occupied by cubs.
Other Cub's Club features include:
- A treasure hunt to help familiarise themselves with their surroundings.
- Story books in their rooms and in the Lounge. These include old favourites and ones with an African or animal theme.
- Educational books in their room and in the Lounge that help them get the most out of their experience in Africa.
- A great range of new and classic children's DVDs and videos that they can watch in the lounge, along with music CDs.
- We have lots of games up our sleeve and we always try to combine entertainment with some education.
- Your ranger will be more than happy to spend time with your cubs to tell them all about the bush and the animals they see.
- We regret that very young cubs (under 6 years) cannot participate in our regular game viewing programme and due to safety, cubs are not able to participate in Safari Walks, but we can arrange short excursions around Rock Lodge to spot birds, insects, lizards and so on.
- We can arrange bedtime story telling in the Lounge complete with milk and cookies, or whatever normally helps get your cubs ready for bed!
- On departure, all cubs will be invited to become permanent members of Ulusaba Cub's Club and will receive a bi-annual newsletter and a birthday card.
In addition to this we can also arrange Cub's Cuisine if you wish, such as pizza, toasties, pasta etc. and a free babysitting service is available, however please be aware that off-duty staff who have experience with children are used for this, due to our location we do not have professional child carers available, but with advance notice this could be arranged at an extra cost.
Cartoon Hippo
If you have a rather large pride with lots of cubs or if you'd just prefer it, we can arrange a set programme provided we get advance notice - just let us know the ages and interests of the cubs concerned, and we'll come up with something to keep them entertained.
Remember that all of this is at no extra cost, unless a charge has been mentioned above. And lastly, we understand that every cub is different so if you want anything specific provided for your particular cub then please let us know and we will do everything we can to ensure their stay runs just how you want it to.
